Paula Fazli, Founding Partner

Paula Fazli, Managing Partner

Paula Hurley Fazli co-founded Sage Search Partners in 1999 and co-led the firm for the next 25 years. In March 2024, Paula began a new chapter for herself and Sage Search by becoming Senior Vice President at Lindauer. In this senior leadership role, Paula carries forward the legacy of Sage Search, co-leading Lindauer’s Higher Education Practice, as she continues to guide organizations through leadership transitions and positions them for future success.

As co-founder of Sage Search Partners, Paula has partnered with hundreds of higher education institutions, nonprofit organizations, and foundations to recruit exceptional individuals for a range of leadership positions in academic affairs, student affairs, enrollment management, administration and finance, human resources, research administration, and institutional planning.

Paula graduated from Harvard University, cum laude, and received her Master’s degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Early in her career, she worked in production management at the American Repertory Theatre. She then joined Orion Consultants, a market research and executive search firm with clients in the financial services industry. After graduate school, Paula held a variety of administrative positions, including Career Specialist at the Boston Private Industry Council, Founding Program Director for the National Academy Foundation’s programs in the Boston Public Schools, and Chief of Staff to the High School Superintendent in Boston. She has served on boards and committees of local and national organizations and is an avid tennis and platform tennis player.

Patricia Herzog, Founding Partner emeritus

Patricia Herzog has over twenty-five years’ experience in higher education, as a teacher, researcher and consultant. After graduating from UCLA magna cum laude with highest honors in philosophy, she earned an M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University. Patricia is the author of Conscious and Unconscious: Freud’s Dynamic Distinction Reconsidered, and co-editor of the award-winning Defending Diversity. She has received grants and awards from the Fund for Psychoanalytic Research and the American Council of Learned Societies. Patricia taught philosophy at Brandeis University, was a Fellow of the Bunting Institute at Radcliffe College (now the Radcliffe Institute), a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, and a member of the Institute for the History of Psychiatry at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She has published numerous articles and reviews in the area of musical aesthetics, performed in and around New England as a pianist and harpsichordist, and is currently writing operas that champion women: A New Ending for ToscaA New Ending for Madama ButterflyButterfly in AmericaThe Scarlet LetterTurandot, The Wind and The Resurrection of Lucretia. Kaycie Roberts, Research Associate

After many years of design and production work in the field of architecture, Kaycie began working with technology companies on product launch and market research. Her photographs and artist books have been shown in galleries and museums in the San Francisco Bay Area. Kaycie graduated cum laude from Harvard College and has Master’s degrees in both architecture and real estate development from Columbia University. Her graduate research focused on architecture, art and business, as well as creativity in the work environment. Recently, she received an MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute.
